Can I use Outlook Express or Eudora if I have my e-mail outsourced to RightMail?
Yes, our customers can use any e-mail client to send and receive their e-mail; we do, however, provide a custom web interface which enables users to check their e-mail remotely from any PC.

Isn't it safer and cheaper for my company to handle our own e-mail internally?
No; in fact, the cost per user is substantially higher to maintain an in-house messaging system, even as much as 10 times higher. RightMail also takes advantage of cutting edge spam protection and virus detection technologies to protect our clients and their data.

How long does it take to get my e-mail system set up?
Most clients can have their e-mail systems set up and running within a few days. Clients with more unique or custom requirements usually have project-based implementation schedules.

How do I maintain my user database?
We provide a password-protected set of mail administration tools, which are used to create and modify the user details as well as to provide a means to change the parameters of the domain. The administration tools are easy to use, and contain links to help files with step-by-step instructions on how to proceed.

Does RightMail support SSL?

Yes, you may establish SSL connections to our incoming and outgoing servers in mail client applications as well as webmail.

How do you provide email and web hosting redundancy?

The goal in building a redundant hosting platform is to minimize points of failure and optimize the hosting servers for both email and web traffic. Our shared hosting plans offer both network and server redundancy. Multiple upstream providers and OC3/OC12 connections allow us to optimize speed and to maintain connectivity should any of the providers' backbones fail. To ensure server and storage redundancy we employ clustering technologies. Our shared hosting clusters include load balancers, multiple servers, and NetApp raid array file storage. In addition, all shared hosting plans include both nightly mirrored disk backups and remote tape backups.

Do RightMail's email hosting plans include backups?

Yes, RightMail's shared cluster email and web hosting plans include two levels of backup. First, the raid array file servers include nightly mirrored disk backups. Second, the file servers are backed up monthly by tape at a remote location. Dedicated servers include mirrored disk backups. For an additional fee based on total gigabytes of storage, dedicated server clients may also purchase remote tape backups.

What do I do if my ISP does not allow relaying or sending mail through port 25?

If your ISP does not support port 25 connectivity, there are two options:
1. Use your ISP's SMTP server (transparent to your recipients)
2. Contact RightMail support about using a different outgoing server that supports connections through alternative port numbers.

Do I need email hosting?

You will need email hosting if you want to use your domain name to setup personal email accounts, example:

How do i check my email?

You can check your mail using a traditional email client such as Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express or by using Aust Domains Webmail applications. Webmail enables you to check your email using your Web browser from any location as long as you have access to the Internet. One of the advantages of Webmail is that you can use Webmail and traditional email clients such as Outlook to check the same email account. So, when you’re in the office you can use your favorite email application, but when you’re traveling you can just log in to Webmail.

Do you supply spam filtering?

Yes. RightMail provide spam and virus filtering that helps keep your email span- and virus-free. All incoming email messages are automatically scanned to detect for viruses and to determine if the message meets specially defined "spam criteria." Our standard spam filtering system, which utilizes SpamAssasin, is built around a set of spam rules that have been carefully developed to provide you protection from spam while reducing the number of valid email messages that may be mistakenly categorized as spam.
